I posted this morning about how I used a felted sweater that I found at a thrift store to make this adorable headband for Lady V. The rest of that sweater became a fall wreath for my front door. I really like the rustic look of the grapevine wreath, twine and wool. It definitely perks up our entry way and makes things look all cozy & fall-like! It is an easy project and very budget friendly if you use thrifted wool sweaters.

Cozy Up For Fall
I am a nester. I have always been a nester. I clean like a crazy lady before anyone comes to my house and often dinner guests send me into DIY overdrive where I decide to do something completely unrealistic for the time frame. Before our first Christmas in this house we painted the living room….until 3 am I think. Before my daughter’s second birthday, we painted our fireplace. Continue reading
Change Table Storage
Before Mr. Man was born, I claimed this dresser out of my parents basement (yay!), but it needed a makeover. I was in full on nesting mode but not really in any state to be painting, well I thought I was, but then nap time would call….. Thankfully my Mom entertains my crazy ideas and offered to paint this dresser for me. It still needs a bit of TLC, the drawers don’t close properly, but I couldn’t wait to start using it. Almost one year later I finally got around to adding a bit of storage. Continue reading
Fab Find
My husband is able to come home for lunch most days, one of the reasons why he loves his job I think! He is able to have lunch with the kiddos and it gives me 30 minutes or so to get a few things done, or hide downstairs with a lovely cup of tea. Today was one of those usual days but 10 minutes after he left I heard the door open again. He was back and wanted me to go and see what he had found. I love surprises! And this one was a good one…ack! Continue reading
Happy Spring! Mantle Update
Apparently life with an almost 6 month old, and an almost 4 year old is busy. So, not so many posts! I finally had a moment to take down most of the winter decor and replace it with a few punches of spring. Still not quite there, but at least things are starting to look a little bit brighter. Here is a glimpse at a few things I added to the living/dining room. Continue reading
Perfect Little Craft Corner
My daughter is obsessed with all things crafty. There isn’t a package of glitter glue she has met that she hasn’t fallen in love with. In an attempt to keep the craft chaos confined to one corner of the house we decided to make her the perfect little craft corner. We knew it had to be good so that she would actually use it! She loves it and spends most of her play room time there. Here is a look at how we did it. Continue reading
Decorative Branches
Miss V’s room is very small, so I am constantly trying to think of ways to give it a bit more “oomph”. This idea was meant for the baby’s room, but then I decided it would look much better above her bed. In the spring we will replace the snowflakes with something new. We just used a couple of white powder-coated hooks to hang it. The branch is not very heavy so it didn’t take any elaborate plans to do. Continue reading
Mantle Goodness
I admit that I am really not one that gets that excited about Valentine’s Day. I am also pretty anti-store-bought cards. But, the mantle was in desperate need of some love, so this is what I came up with. Our fireplace used to be really nasty red brick, until one late night my poor husband finally caved and agreed to get out the white paint. Days later (he was not amused) it was finally a beautiful white! The mantle is a beam from my husbands grandparents barn on their farm. It was saved when the barn was burned down and I love the history of it, and the look of course. Continue reading
