While my pinterest board and craft room are filled with ideas, reality appears in the form of an adorable one year old who is not really into sleeping. Combine that with my innate desire to attempt to be organized and have a clean house and chaos ensues. For example, on Tuesday at 12:25pm as Lady V. was putting on her shoes to go to preschool it dawned on me that it was her Halloween party day. Oops. Preschool starts at 1pm, and is a 15 minutes drive away…..and I was still in my PJs. True Story.
Thankfully the laundry piles were partially tackled the night before and I could pull out a black and white outfit. I remembered seeing her orange ribbon headband from last fall on the floor in her room, grabbed a random plastic spider from her bed (really?!) and with a glue gun made her a Halloween headband in under 3 minutes…I am a bit neurotic, this was completely unnecessary. I happened to have dug out the Halloween bin that morning in the hopes of decorating and managed to scrounge up 12 mini play-doh treats leftover from last year, the exact number I needed. I raced around the house getting myself dressed, getting Mr. Man ready to go, and was just putting him in the car seat when my husband pulled in the driveway to take her, phew. Good thing that 1 year old of mine who does not sleep is insanely adorable! Someday I will be organized again….maybe. Naturally while running late you must pause to take a photo as well!
This afternoon while Mr. Man was taking a much needed nap, I spent some time with Lady V. getting ready for Halloween. She made this adorable Ghost Garland using the easy tutorial posted here at No Time for Flash Cards. Go check out this great blog. Oodles of great ideas for babies to big kids.
and just because he looked adorable after a long day of running with his doggy friends at doggy daycare…..
Would love to show you a few Halloween photos, alas I charged my camera battery, then left it in a really safe place, with my camera, at home. Definitely a great day filled with decorating, playing, visiting family and neighbours and our usual hilarious chaos! Happy Halloween!
