Oreo Cream Cheese Truffles

The title of this post says it all. I’m not sure there’s anything more I can add except. Wow and Yum. These are deadly. Only make them when you’re entertaining or you’ll eat the whole batch yourself. You’ve been warned!!

1 Box Oreo Cookies (Ground finely in a Blender or Food Processor)
1/2 Block (4oz.) Philly Cream Cheese (Ya, that’s right.)

Blend the above until smooth – the whole thing should stick together in a big ball.

Make little bite-sized balls. Freeze until you have time to chocolate-dip, or continue to that step if you’re ready now.

I used white baker’s chocolate (about 4 full squares melted does half a batch since we did half white with chocolate chip drizzle and half chocolate chip with white drizzle) and 1 to 1 1/2C of chocolate chips. If you were doing all white chocolate base, I’d use the whole box of baker’s chocolate. Melt chocolate in two double-boilers (or using your preferred chocolate-melting method). You can add a bit of shortening or even some veg. oil to make the chocolate a bit more smooth and shiny and easier to work with.

Use a spoon to roll the balls around in the chocolate and replace onto a parchment paper-lined tray. Drizzle with the opposite coloured chocolate. As you can see, I by no means took my time and made anything look “fancy” – especially because I had a 3 year old helping me! We made a huge mess, splattered each other with chocolate and they still taste yummy!! Freeze or refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.

Yum. Thank you Chef In Training for a super duper yummy and easy recipe!

  1. I made these at Christmas with lots of varieties. Peanut butter cookies, fudge -o’s. Yeah, we ate them all before Christmas dinner. They also freeze really well and are sooooo good right out of the freezer ;)

    • Now I’ll have to explore the cookie aisle for ideas! I try to avoid the “inner aisles” as much as possible when I’m shopping … this is NOT good! LOL

  2. Can’t wait to try these. I am going to make these for my son’s kindergarten graduation on Tuesday!

    They sounds so YUM!

      • Not one left to bring home …. and there was so much food to choose from! They are so easy and look so nice. This is definitely a keeper recipe. When making it, I did add a little extra cream cheese – to make it ‘cheesier,’ but that left them a little soft, so I added a little bit of icing sugar.

        • Aweseome Colleen! So glad they were such a hit! It’s been recommended to me to also try other cream-filled cookies too – fudgeeos, peanut butter, maple … the options are really endless and it’s such a simple recipe you can tweak as you go! If you try any others, let us know and we can post them to share!!
