I am a nester. I have always been a nester. I clean like a crazy lady before anyone comes to my house and often dinner guests send me into DIY overdrive where I decide to do something completely unrealistic for the time frame. Happy Spring! Mantle Update

Apparently life with an almost 6 month old, and an almost 4 year old is busy. So, not so many posts! I finally had a moment to take down most of the winter decor and replace it with a few punches of spring. Still not quite there, but at least things are starting to look a little bit brighter. Mantle Goodness

I admit that I am really not one that gets that excited about Valentine’s Day. I am also pretty anti-store-bought cards. But, the mantle was in desperate need of some love, so this is what I came up with. Our fireplace used to be really nasty red brick, until one late night my poor husband finally caved and agreed to get out the white paint. Days later (he was not amused) it was finally a beautiful white! The mantle is a beam from my husbands grandparents barn on their farm. It was saved when the barn was burned down and I love the history of it, and the look of course. Continue reading
